Enerzair Breezhaler Information:

Enerzair Breezhaler is an inhalant medication used for maintenance in adults whose asthma has not responded to other medications. Enerzair contains three active substances, indacaterol, glycopyrronium bromide, and mometasone. Indacaterol is a long-acting beta-2 adrenergic receptor agonist. It works by relaxing the muscles around the airways and the lungs by activating beta-2 receptors in muscle cells. Glycopyrronium bromide is a muscarinic receptor antagonist. It works by blocking certain receptors in muscle cells in the airway that control the contraction of the muscles, which in turn helps keep the airways open. Mometasone is a corticosteroid that works through its anti-inflammatory effects, specifically by blocking the release of substances, such as histamine, that are involved in the inflammation and release of mucus in the airways. The combination of these three substances can greatly improve symptoms of asthma. Common symptoms of asthma include wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness or pain, and coughing attacks.
