Nevanac Information:
Nevanac (generic name: Nepafenac) is a drug which is prescribed for patients who have had cataracts surgery. Nevanac belongs to the group of drugs called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by reducing pain and inflammation in the eyes after cataracts surgery. Cataracts are cloudy patches in the lens (the transparent structure at the front of the eye) that can make vision blurred or misty. They can develop in one or both eyes, and one eye can often be more affected than the other. Vision usually becomes blurred, cloudy or misty and you may notice small spots in your field of vision. The only way that cataracts can be removed is through surgery, which can cause pain and discomfort, and Nevanac helps to relieve this.
Nevanac Side Effects:
As with any drug, there may be side effects from taking Nevanac including dry or sticky feeling in the eye(s), feeling like there is something in your eye, redness of the eye, itching or watering of the eye, increased sensitivity to light, headache, nausea, vomiting and stuffy nose. Nevanac Directions:
