CiproDex Otic Suspension Information:
CiproDex Otic Suspension (generic name: Ciprofloxacin/Dexomethasone) is a drug which is prescribed for the treatment of ear infections. It is an ear drop, and the active ingredients are Ciprofloxacin and Dexomethasone. Ciprofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, and it works by fighting the bacteria in the body that cause ear infections. Dexamethasone is a steroid, and this works by killing bacteria. It stops the production of essential proteins needed by the bacteria to survive. Ciprodex Otic Suspension is the only combination therapy that combines a steroid with an antibiotic to reduce swelling and fight infection in both the middle and outer ear. As with any drug, there may be side effects from taking CiproDex Otic Suspension including ear discomfort, itching in and around the ear and an unusual taste in the mouth. More serious side effects may include an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing, closing of the throat, swelling of the lips, tongue or face), skin rash, ear drainage, discharge from the ear or worsening pain in or around the ears and throat. CiproDex Otic Suspension Directions:

CiproDex Otic Suspension comes in liquid eardrop form. Warm the drops slightly before administering by holding in the hands for 1-2 minutes, as administering cold drops can cause dizziness. If possible have another person administer the drops. Gently shake the bottle, then hold the earlobe up and back and tilt the head slightly. Gently squeeze the prescribed number of drops into the ear and wait 60 seconds before tilting the head back to its normal position. CiproDex Otic Suspension should be stored at room temperature away from direct sunlight and heat.

If you are allergic to any of the ingredients of CiproDex Otic Suspension, you should avoid taking it and inform your doctor.
