Levitra Information:

Levitra (generic name: Vardenafil HCl) is an efficient oral medication for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED), also known as impotence. Erectile dysfunction is a disorder which means that men have problems either getting an erection or keeping an erection long enough for intercourse. Levitra belongs to the group of drugs called phosphodiesterase inhibitors. The active ingredient in Levitra is vadenafil. Vadenafil works by helping to relax the muscles and increase the blood flow to the penis with sexual stimulation. This aids in achieving and maintaining an erection long enough for intercourse. Levitra does not work without sexual stimulation and does not increase libido or sexual desire. Many men experience erection problems and erectile dysfunction can occur at any age, but is more common among men over the age of 40-50. Erectile dysfunction is also more common in men who have or have had an enlarged prostate and men suffering from depression.

Levitra Side Effects:

As with any drug, there may be side effects from taking Levitra including warmth or redness of the skin, stuffy/runny nose, headache, memory problems, upset stomach and back pain. More serious side effects may include sudden vision loss, ringing in the ears, sudden hearing loss, chest pain, pain spreading to the arm, feeling generally ill, irregular heartbeat, swelling of the hands, ankles or feet, shortness of breath, changes in vision, feeling faint, seizures and an erection that is painful or that lasts more than 4 hours. If you experience any side effects you must seek medical attention immediately for safety.

Levitra Directions:

You should follow the instructions of the doctor who prescribed Levitra to you. Directions and dosage information can also be found on the pack or leaflet inside the pack. Levitra comes in tablet form and comes in 5mg or 10 mg doses. You should swallow Levitra whole with a glass of water. Never crush, chew or break tablets as this may result in too much of the drug being released at one time which can have undesirable effects. Levitra should be stored at room temperature away from direct sunlight and heat.

Levitra Precautions:

If you are allergic to any of the ingredients of Levitra, you should avoid taking it and inform your doctor. You must consult your doctor if you have any pre-existing medical conditions including heart disease, heart rhythm problems, recent history of heart attack, blood clots or stroke, personal/family history of Long QT syndrome, liver or kidney disease, a blood cell disorder, a bleeding disorder, stomach ulcer, retinitis pigmentosa, a physical deformity of the penis or if you have been told to refrain from sexual intercourse. You must consult your doctor if you are taking any other medications as they may interact with Levitra, including conivaptan, diclofenac, imatinib, isoniazid, antidepressants, antibiotics, anti-fungals, blood pressure medications, heart medications and HIV/AIDs medications. Levitra is not suitable for women or children.

The generic alternative is not manufactured by the company that makes the brand product.
