Solian (Amisulpride) is a prescription medication used to prevent nausea and vomiting after surgery. Solian can also be used in higher doses to treat schizophrenia and acute psychotic episodes. Solian belongs to classes of medications called atypical antipsychotics and antiemetics. In the treatment of nausea, it works by blocking the receptors in the brain that dopamine acts on, which is a brain area that relays stimuli to the vomiting centre. Solian Precautions:

You should not use Solian if you are allergic to Amisulpride. To make sure this medication is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have ever had a heart rhythm disorder, long QT syndrome (in you or a family member), congestive heart failure, or an electrolyte imbalance (such as low levels of potassium or magnesium in your blood). Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant in order to discuss any possible risks. You should not breastfeed within 48 hours after receiving this medication. If you use a breast pump during this time, throw out any milk you collect. Do not feed it to your baby. Solian may interact with several medications, specifically medications for infections, asthma, heart problems, high blood pressure, depression, mental illness, cancer, malaria, or HIV.
