Gilenya (generic name: Fingolimod) is a new approved oral medication for the treatment of relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis. Gilenya does not cure multiple sclerosis (MS), however it does assist in slowing down the problems caused by MS. Gilenya can decrease the amount of MS relapses. Fingolimod belongs to the group of drugs called immunosuppressive. In patients with MS, the body’s own immune system attacks the insulating substance (myelin) around the nerve cell fibres. Gilenya Side Effects:
