Xopenex Information:

Xopenex (generic name: Levalbuterol) is a drug which is prescribed for the treatment of reversible obstructive airway diseases such as asthma, bronchitis and emphysema. Xopenex belongs to the group of drugs called bronchodilators, and it works by relaxing the muscles in the airways to improve breathing. Asthma is a long-term condition that can cause a cough, wheezing and breathlessness. The severity of the symptoms varies from person to person. Asthma can be controlled well in most people most of the time by using drugs such as Xopenex. Bronchitis is an infection of the main airways of the lungs, which causes them to become inflamed. It is common in winter and often develops following a cold, sore throat or flu. Emphysema is a lung condition that affects the small air sacs (alveoli) where oxygen passes into the blood and carbon dioxide passes out. All of these conditions can be helped and treated by using Xopenex.

Xopenex Side Effects:

As with any drug, there may be side effects from taking Xopenex including dizziness, tremors, nervousness, anxiety, headache, cough or runny nose, upset stomach and leg cramps.
