Ritonavir is an protease inhibitor which prevents human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) cells from multiplying and spreading in the body. Human immunodeficiency virus leads to acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), and Ritonavir is used to treat HIV, however it is not a cure for HIV and AIDS.
