Denavir Information:
Denavir (generic name: Penciclovir) drug is a topical medication used for the treatment of recurrent cold sores on the lips and face, associated with the herpes simplex virus. It works by preventing the herpes simplex virus from growing and should begin applied at the first hint of a developing cold sore. It belongs to the group of drugs called antivirals, and works by fighting virus cells in the body such as the herpes virus. Denavir is a prescription only drug and cannot be bought over the counter.
