Clindasol 1% (Clindamycin phosphate) cream belongs to the lincosamide class of macrolide antibiotics. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. Clindasol cream is used to treat acne vulgaris (pimples, blackheads and whiteheads) on your face, back, and chest caused by bacteria. It helps in reducing excess oil production, blackheads, whiteheads, or painful lumps beneath the skin. This provides relief from the pimples reduces tenderness and swelling and helps in the recovery of the skin. This medication may be used alone or with other medicines that are used on the skin. • Asthma;

• Pregnant or breastfeeding. If you become pregnant while using topical clindamycin, call your doctor;
• Scheduled for surgery, including dental surgery, tell the doctor that you are using topical clindamycin;
• Severe diarrhea caused by an antibiotic. Your doctor may tell you not to use topical clindamycin.

Inform your doctor and pharmacist about all the prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking or plan to take. Your doctor may need to change the doses of your medications or monitor you carefully for side effects. Do not use abrasive or medicated soaps and skin products that contain alcohol, they may make the side effects of topical clindamycin worse.
