Nitoman Information:

Nitoman (generic name: Tetrabenazine, also known as Revocon, or Xenazine) is drug which is prescribed for the treatment of Huntington’s disease. The active ingredient is Tetrabenazine. Tetrabenazine is a drug which reduces the amount of certain chemicals within the body that are overly active in people with Huntington’s disease. It is used to treat Huntington’s chorea, of which the main symptom is uncontrolled muscle spasms. Huntington's disease is an inherited disease of the brain. There is no cure, but much can be done to help families. The disease damages some of the nerve cells in the brain, causing deterioration and gradual loss of function of areas of the brain. This affects movement, cognition (perception, awareness, thinking, judgement) and behaviour. Early symptoms, such as personality changes, mood swings and unusual behaviour, are often overlooked at first and attributed to something else. Huntington's disease was originally called Huntington's chorea, after the Greek word for dancing. This is because the associated involuntary movements of the condition can look like jerky dancing.
