PanOxyl (Benzoyl Peroxide)

PanOxyl Information:

Panoxyl (generic name: Benzoyl Peroxide, also known as Persol Gel) I known for its antibacterial effects, and it mild during affect which works to allow all excess oils and all variants of dirt to be washed away off the skin. It is used most commonly to treat the causes of Acne of the skin. You should avoid getting any of this medication in your mouth or eyes during use, if the dose does by accident apply itself to areas that you do not wish to be treated you should attempt to rinse it off with water immediately to ensure no negative effects are caused.

PanOxyl comes in a variety of forms, including AquaGel (0.5 %/60 gm, 5 %/60 gm), Cleansing Gel (120 gm), Creamy Wash (120 gm), Gel (5 %/60 gm, 10 %/60 gm, 20 %/60 gm), Wash (5 %/175 ml), and Wash Bar (10 %/100 gm).

PanOxyl Side Effects:

As with all medications, you may encounter some side effects. Side effects are rare and are not often reported, however the user, should always be aware of them, and be aware of what steps to take if they feel Panoxyl is the cause for any strange feeling or effects. You may encounter an allergic reaction to this medication, if you are unaware of the ingredients used during production. Some of the signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction could be a swelling to the hands, neck or any areas of the face, including the tongue. If you do experience any form of allergic reaction to Panoxyl, you should cease use immediately and seek emergency medical aid. You may also encounter some less serious side effects whilst using the medication, Less serious side effects that have been reported include, a mild stinging or burning sensation, an itching or tingling feeling, skin dryness and a redness or other similar type of skin condition. There may be more side effects that are not included on this list, and it is important that if you do experience any negative effects, that you think may be related to Panoxyl, that you report these to your doctor or physician.

PanOxyl Directions:

You should take Panoxyl exactly as you are directed from you doctor or physician, and you should never take a dose that is either too large or too small during your treatment. This is because it may ether lead to negative side effects or mean that the drug cannot provide you, with the benefits you can achieve. If you happen to take an overdose of Panoxyl, you should seek emergency medical aid immediately, and you should also remember the name of the product you have taken, to tell the emergency medical teams that you first see after the overdose. If you miss one dose of Panoxyl during your prescription period, then take the dose as soon as you remember, unless it is nearly time for your next dose, in which you should just wait until this time arrives. You should ensure that you wash your hands prior to applying this medication and that you also shake the lotion you are prescribed well before every use. You should then proceed to clean and apply gently to the skin in thin layers. Do not cover an area of skin unless your doctor has specifically stated that you treat that area.

PanOxyl Precautions:

As already mentioned you should avoid getting this medication into your eyes or mouth as it may cause some negative side effects. It is also important that you do not use Panoxyl on any skin that is sunburnt, chapped, irritated or broken. Avoid the use of Panoxyl on areas of skin that are affected by eczema, and wait until these areas of skin affected by eczema are fully healed prior to use of Panoxyl on the area. Avoid using skin care products that may cause irritation to your skin, such as products that contain alcohols, spices, waxes and certain chemicals, and do not use any other variant of skin care medication unless your doctor or physician has specifically stated that you use the two together.
