Combigan Information:
Combigan (generic name: Brimonidine and Timolol) is an eye drop drug which is prescribed for patients with open-angle glaucoma. It is also used to treat other eye conditions that cause high pressure in the eyes, such as ocular hypertension. Brimonidine is an alpha-agonist that reduces the amount of fluid in the eye, which decreases pressure inside the eye. Timolol is a beta-blocker that also helps by reducing pressure the eye. Glaucoma is a condition where fluid in the eye increases pressure, and this can cause irreversible damage to the optic nerves which in turn leads to loss of vision or blindness. There are many different types of glaucoma, depending on the underlying cause of the damage to the optic nerves. Combigan Side Effects:
As with any drug, there may be side effects from taking Combigan including burning or stinging in the eye, dry eyes, blurred vision, mildly swollen eyes, weakness, fatigue, cough, sore throat, nausea, upset stomach, headache, drowsiness, unpleasant taste in the mouth, sensitivity to light and dry nose.
