Inspra (Eplerenone) is a prescription used to treat high blood pressure, heart failure and heart damage after a heart attack. This medication is a diuretic that helps you lose excess salt and water through your pee. By lowering high blood pressure, you will prevent strokes, heart attacks and kidney problems. Eplerenone belongs to the class of drugs called aldosterone antagonist. This medication works by blocking a chemical in your body which lowers the amount of sodium and water retained by the body. It may take up to 4 weeks for this medication to fully affect your blood pressure.

Inspra Side Effects:

The common side effects of Inspra include dizziness, headache, and high potassium. Call your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects such as:
• Diarrhea, vomiting;
• Fast or irregular heartbeats;
• Feeling light-headed;
• High potassium;
• Little or no urination;
• Swelling in your feet or lower legs;
• Trouble breathing

Inspra Directions:

Follow the directions on your prescription label. Inspra may be taken with or without food as directed by your doctor. Remember to use at the same time each day. Inspra must be stored at room temperature away from moisture and heat.

Inspra Precautions:

Do not take Inspra if you are allergic to Eplerenone or if you have:
• High potassium levels in your blood;
• Severe kidney disease;
• Type 2 diabetes with increased levels of albumin in your urine

Before you start taking this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history and if you take other heart or blood pressure medications or if you have ever had:
