Open-angle glaucoma, the most common form of glaucoma, accounting for at least 90% of all glaucoma cases. It is caused by the slow clogging of the drainage canals in the eye, resulting in pressure. It often develops slowly and is a lifelong condition. Glaucoma has certain symptoms and damage that are not noticed. It is a condition which leads to permanent damage of the optic nerve that carries visual information from the eye to the brain. Untreated glaucoma can lead to visual loss and even total blindness.
