Pletal Side Effects:

Many people using this medication do not have serious side effects. Tell your doctor right away if you have any serious side effects, including swelling hands/feet, easy, black/bloody stools, vomit that looks like coffee grounds, signs of infection (such as fever, persistent sore throat), severe headache, bloody urine, painful urination, body aches, flu symptoms, chest pain, shortness of breath, easy bruising or bleeding.

A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, or trouble breathing.

Pletal Directions:

Use Pletal by mouth without food as directed by your doctor, usually twice daily, at least 30 minutes before or 2 hours after breakfast and dinner. The dosage is based on your medical condition, response to treatment, and other medications you may be taking. Use as directed and at the same time each day. Your symptoms may improve in 2-4 weeks, but it may take up to 12 weeks before you get the full benefit of this drug. Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens. If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember but if it is close to the next dose, skip the missed dose. Use your next dose at the regular time. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed dose.

Pletal Precautions:

Before taking Cilostazol, remember to inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it or have any other allergies. It may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Let your doctor or pharmacist know your medical history, such as:
• Active or serious bleeding (such as bleeding ulcers, bleeding in the eye/brain);
• Blood disorders (such as haemophilia, low platelet counts);
• Heart disease (such as heart attack, chest pain, fast/irregular heartbeat);
• Kidney disease;
• Stroke;
• Pregnancy. During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when needed. It is unknown if this medication passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breastfeeding

This drug may make you dizzy; do not drive, use machinery, or do anything that needs alertness until you can do it safely. Pletal may cause stomach bleeding; daily use of alcohol while using this medicine may increase your risk for stomach bleeding. Pletal may cause a condition that affects the heart rhythm (QT prolongation); QT prolongation can rarely cause serious fast/irregular heartbeat and other symptoms (such as severe dizziness, and fainting) that need medical attention right away. Do not administer for at least 4-6 half-lives before elective surgical procedures. Store at room temperature away from light and moisture.
