Dulera Information:
Dulera (generic name: Formoterol/Mometasone) is a drug which is prescribed for the treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Dulera contains the active ingredients Mometasone and Formoterol. Mometasone is a steroid, which works by reducing inflammation in the body. Formoterol is a long acting bronchodilator which works by relaxing the muscles in the airways. This helps to improve breathing. Asthma and COPD usually cause symptoms such as feeling heavy in the chest, coughing, struggling to breathe well, sometime painful airways and losing breath easily. Dulera is to be used with an inhaler device, and the drug is used as a maintenance treatment in adults and children over 12 years of age. The medication cannot be used for the treatment of an attack that has already started, but is for the use of prevention of future attacks. Dulera is a strong asthma drug, and is usually only prescribed if other forms of asthma medication have been tried and are unsuccessful.
Dulera Side Effects:
As with any drug, there may be side effects from taking Dulera including headache, nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, diarrhea, back pain, stuffy nose, muscle or joint pain and changes in the voice due to changes in the airways. More serious side effects may include worsening asthma symptoms, chest pain, changes in heartbeat, tremors, nervousness, wheezing, throat irritation, choking, signs of infection (fever, chills, sore throat, and flu-like symptoms), blurred vision, white patches/sores on the mouth, high blood pressure, anxiety and confusion. Dulera Directions:
