CIPRO (Ciprofloxacin) is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections.

Cipro Side Effects:

Cipro side effects that may occur while taking CIPRO include stomach upset, loss of appetite, diarrhea, nausea, headache, vision changes or dizziness during the first few days as your body adjusts to this medicine. If Cipro side effects continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience Cipro side effects like tendon pain, joint pain or swelling, sunburn-like skin reaction (sun sensitivity), or severe or continuing diarrhea. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you experience Cipro side effects like seizures, mental or mood changes, easy bruising or bleeding, swelling of throat or tongue, persistent sore throat or fever, irregular heartbeat, chest pain, stomach pain, yellowing eyes and skin, dark urine, unusual change in the amount of urine, or unusual fatigue. Cipro side effects may rarely cause a severe intestinal condition (pseudomembranous colitis) due to a resistant bacteria. This condition may occur weeks after treatment has stopped. Do not use anti-diarrhea products or narcotic pain medicines if you have the following symptoms because these products may make them worse. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY if you develop Cipro side effects like persistent diarrhea, abdominal or stomach pain or cramping, or blood or mucus in your stool. USE FOR PROLONGED OR REPEATED PERIODS may result in Cipro side effects like oral thrush or a vaginal yeast infection. Contact your doctor if you notice Cipro side effects like white patches in your mouth, a change in vaginal discharge or other new symptoms. If you notice other Cipro side effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
