Edronax Information:

This medicine contains the active ingredient reboxetine, which is a type of antidepressant known as a selective noradrenaline re-uptake inhibitor. When depression occurs, there may be a decreased amount of a chemical called noradrenaline released from nerve cells in the brain. When noradrenaline is released from nerve cells it acts to lighten mood. When it is reabsorbed into the nerve cells, it no longer has an effect on mood. Reboxetine works by preventing this re-absorption of noradrenaline back into the nerve cells. Therefore, it helps prolong the mood-lightening effect of any released noradrenaline. This helps relieve depression. Reboxetine must be taken for up to three to four weeks before benefits of treatment may appear.
