Follow your doctor’s instructions very carefully. Qvar Redihaler is not a rescue medication, and it will not work fast enough to treat an asthma attack. When using the inhaler, prime it by pumping two test sprays into the air, away from your face. Prime the inhaler if it has not been used for longer than 10 days. To reduce the risk of developing a yeast infection in your mouth, rinse your mouth with water after using the inhaler, and do not swallow. It may take 1 or 2 weeks before your symptoms improve. Continue using the medication, and call your doctor if your symptoms do not begin to improve after 2 weeks. You should not stop taking this medication suddenly, as you can experience unpleasant withdrawal symptoms. Follow your doctor’s instructions about tapering your dose. Store this medication at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Store the inhaler with the canister upright and the mouthpiece on top.

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. You should not breastfeed while using this medication, as it can pass into breast milk.
