Diprosone Information:

This medication is a topical corticosteroid, used for the relief of inflammatory symptoms of severe psoriasis and rashes that respond to treatment with corticosteroid creams, lotions, or ointments. Such rashes include contact dermatitis, eczema, seborrheic dermatitis, and senile pruritis. Your doctor may choose to use a medication for conditions other than the ones listed in these drug information articles. If you're unsure why you are using this medication, contact your doctor. How should I use Diprosone? Cream or ointment: Apply a sufficient quantity of the cream or ointment to completely cover the affected area with a thin film of cream or ointment. Massage it gently and thoroughly into skin. This medication is usually applied once daily in the morning, or twice daily in the morning and at night as directed by the doctor. The treatment should be stopped when the condition is cleared. This usually takes at least three days or longer. The medication should not be continued for a period longer than four weeks without further consultation with your doctor. Lotion: A few drops of lotion is usually enough to cover the affected area. The lotion should be gently massaged into the area until it disappears. The lotion is usually applied once daily for three weeks. The cream, ointment, and lotion should not be covered with a dressing that does not allow the area to breathe.
