Xyzal (Levocetirizine) is an antihistamine that reduces the natural chemical histamine in the body. The histamine causes symptoms such as sneezing, itching, watery eyes, and runny nose. Xyzal (Levocetirizine) can be used to treat cold or allergy symptoms which are caused by the histamines. Xyzal (Levocetirizine) can also be used to treat chronic idiopathic urticaria.
Xyzal (Levocetirizine) is a white to off-white, oval, film-coated tablet. It is recommended to take the daily dose in one single intake.
Xyzal Side Effects:The most common side effects caused by Xyzal (Levocetirizine) that are known are dry mouth, fatigue and headaches.
Xyzal (Levocetirizine) can cause some serious side effects in which case you should call your doctor as soon as possible. These serious side effects include: feeling like you might pass out, nosebleed, confusion, hallucinations, numbness or tingling around your lips or mouth, jaundice, dark urine, foul-smelling stools, fever, and stomach pain.
Xyzal Precautions: Patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, the Lapp lactase deficiency or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medicine.
