Aldactone (Spironolactone) is available from various manufacturers. Aldactone (Spironolactone) comes as a 25mg and 100mg tablet and can be cut in half. Aldactone (Spironolactone) is a pottasium sparing diuretic and is sometimes used in conjection with Lasix (Furosemide). Aldactone (Spironolactone) is indicated when the body is losing too much potassium due to a diuretic and the physician wishes to reduce that loss.

Aldactone side effects cannot be anticipated. If any Aldactone side effects develop or change in intensity, inform your doctor as soon as possible. Only your doctor can determine if it is safe for you to continue taking Aldactone.
Aldactone side effects may include: Abdominal cramps, breast development in males, change in potassium levels (leading to such symptoms as dry mouth, excessive thirst, weak or irregular heartbeat, and muscle pain or cramps), deepening of voice, diarrhea, drowsiness, excessive hairiness, fever, headache, hives, irregular menstruation, kidney problems, lack of coordination, lethargy, liver problems, mental confusion, postmenopausal bleeding, severe allergic reaction, sexual dysfunction, skin eruptions, stomach bleeding, stomach inflammation, ulcers, vomiting
