Finacea Information:
Finacea (generic name: Azelaic acid) is an approved topical medication prescribed for use in patients suffering from acne. It is also used in the treatment of rosacea, which is a skin condition that causes red eruptions on the face, especially the cheeks and the nose. Azelaic acid is a naturally occurring acid which helps the skin renew itself more quickly, and this in turn reduces spot and blackhead formation. It also works by killing off the bacteria that are responsible for bacterial acne.
