Minitran Patch Information:

Minitran Patch (generic name Nitroglycerin) is a patch used in adults to prevent angina (chest pain). Minitran patch when applied to the skin, helps nitroglycerin to get slowly absorbed through the skin and into the blood stream. The nitroglycerin enters in the body in a controlled way, a little at a time. Minitran patch helps to relax the blood vessels and increases the supply of oxygen and blood to heart, thus preventing an angina attack. This medication is not intended for acute angina attacks. Sublingual nitroglycerin should be used if you are having an acute angina attack. Symptoms of an angina attack include heaviness, pressure, squeezing, tightness or pain in the chest. If you are diagnosed with this condition, your doctor will discuss the most effective treatment for your particular condition.
