Once the person you care for adjusts to the medicine, the doctor may increase the dose of Aricept (Donepezil) to 10 mg once a day.

Aricept (Donepezil) Alzheimers Disease Medication is well tolerated, but may not be for everyone. Some people may experience Donepezil side effects like nausea, diarrhea, not sleeping well, vomiting, muscle cramps, feeling very tired, or not wanting to eat. Additional Aricept (Donepezil) side effects that occurred include: abrasions, feeling very weak, upset stomach, headache, joint pain, dizziness, accidental injury, and urinary tract infection. In studies, Aricept (Donepezil) side effects were usually mild and went away over time. Some people taking Aricept (Donepezil) may experience Aricept (Donepezil) side effects like fainting. People at risk for ulcers should tell their doctors because their condition may get worse. Individual responses to Aricept (Donepezil) can be different - people may get better, stay the same, or not get better.
