LovaZa (EPA and DHA)

LovaZa Information:

Lovaza or Omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids are normally found in the oil of certain types of fish, vegetables and many other plant sources. These essential fatty acids are not produced in the body; however they should be a vital part of your diet. Lovaza and omega 3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, work to reduce and lower the bodily production of triglycerides, which can if found in high levels lead to coronary artery disease, heart disease or a stroke. Generally Lovaza is prescribed together with a diet and regular exercise in a bid to help lower the triglycerides levels that may be found in your blood.

Each 1-gram capsule of Lovaza contains at least 900 mg of the ethyl esters of omega-3 fatty acids. These are predominantly a combination of ethyl esters of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA - approximately 465 mg) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA - approximately 375 mg).

LovaZa Side Effects:

As with all medications, you may encounter some side effects. Side effects are rare and are not often reported, however the user, should always be aware of them, and be aware of what steps to take if they feel Lovaza is the cause for any strange feeling or effects. You may encounter an allergic reaction to this medication, if you are unaware of the ingredients used during production. Some of the signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction could be a swelling to the hands, neck or any areas of the face, including the tongue. If you do experience any form of allergic reaction to Lovaza, you should cease use immediately and seek emergency medical aid. If you notice any of the following serious side affects you should stop using Lovaza immediately and consult your doctor or physician. Fever, chills, chest pains, uneven heartbeat or irregular heartbeat are all symptoms of a serious side effect. Less serious side effects that users have been known to experience, include back pain, an unusual taste in your mouth, an upset stomach and also a minor skin rash, again if you experience any of these whilst being prescribed Lovaza, you should contact your doctor or physician to discuss your further treatment.

LovaZa Directions:

You should take Lovaza exactly as you are directed from your doctor or physician, and you should never take a dose that is either too large or too small during your prescription. This is because it may ether lead to negative side effects or mean that the drug cannot provide you, with the benefits you can achieve. If you happen to take an overdose of Lovaza, you should seek emergency medical aid immediately, and you should also remember the name of the product you have taken, to tell the emergency medical teams that you first see after the overdose. If you miss one dose of Lovaza during your prescription period, then take the dose as soon as you remember, unless it is nearly time for your next dose, in which you should just wait until this time arrives. You should swallow the capsule or tablet whole and should not puncture or break the capsule during the times you are taking your recommended dose. You are to ensure that you visit your doctor on a regular basis, as your blood may need to be tested on a regular basis; to be sure the medication is helping your condition.

LovaZa Precautions:

This medication should only be used as part of complete diet and exercise programme, that is formulate through your doctor or physician. It must also be noted that other drugs may interact with the possible results of Lovaza. It is important that you inform your doctor about all other medications that you currently use, from prescription drugs to other vitamins and minerals. You are to stop using this medication if you experience any symptoms of an allergic reaction, or any of the side effects that are mentioned above, and you should consult your doctor immediately. Inform your doctor if you experience any side effect that seems unusual to you and even though it is not mentioned here, it may be linked to the use of Lovaza.
