QVAR Inhaler Information:
Q-Var (Beclomethasone) asthma drugs are a corticosteroid used to treat asthma.Q-Var (Beclomethasone) asthma drugs are also used to prevent asthma attacks. Q-Var(Beclomethasone) asthma drugs will not stop an asthma attack once one has started. Q-Var (Beclomethasone) asthma drugs may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
QVAR Inhaler Side Effects:
Q-Var side effects that may go away during Q-Var treatment include headache, dry mouth, hoarseness, or irritated throat. If Q-Var side effects continue or are bothersome, check with your doctor. Check with your doctor as soon as possible if you experience Q-Var side effects like white curd-like patches in your mouth, or rash. If you notice other Q-Var side effects not listed above, contact your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist.
QVAR Inhaler Directions:
For meter dose inhaler. Remove inhaler cap and hold inhaler upright. Shake inhaler. Tilt your head back and breathe out slowly. To position the inhaler, open your mouth with the inhaler 1 to 2 inches away or in your mouth. Press down on the inhaler to release the medication as you start to breath slowly. Breath slowly for 3 to 5 seconds. Hold your breath for 10 seconds to allow the medication to reach deep into your lungs. Repeat as directed.
For nasal inhaler. Blw your nose before use. Shake the container well. Remove the protective cap and hold the inhaler between your thumb and forefinger. tilt your head back slightly and insert the end of the inhaler into one nostril. While holding the other nostril closed with one finger, press down once to release one dose and, at the same time, inhale gently. Hold your breath for a few seconds and then breathe out slowly through your mouth. Repeat the process in the other nostril. Avoid blowing your nose for 15 minutes.
QVAR Inhaler Precautions:
During stress or severe asthmatic attacks, patients withdrawn from systemic corticosteroids should contact their physcian immediately.
