Dipentum Information:


Dipentum(Olsalazine) is an anti-inflammatory drug used for maintenance of remission of ulcerative colitis in patients intolerant to sulfasalazine. Ulcerative Colitis is the chronic inflammation and ulceration of the large intestine and rectum. Dipentum(Olsalazine) should not be used by anyone with kidney disease, it may cause further damage. If your physician does prescribe Dipentum(Olsalazine), you will need regular checks on your kidney function.

Dipentum Side Effects:

The most common side effects of Dipentum(Olsalazine) would be diarrhea or loose stools. Other side effects that may go away during treatment include abdominal pain/cramping, bloating, depression, dizziness, drowsiness, headaches, heartburn, indigestion, inflammation of the mouth, insomnia, joint pain, loss of appetite, nausea, rectal bleeding, rash, itching, upper respiratory infection, vertigo, and vomiting. If any of these side effects continue, check with your doctor as soon as possible. Rare cases of hepatitis have been reported in people taking Dipentum(Olsalazine). Symptoms may include aching muscles, chills, fever, headache, joint pain, loss of appetite, vomiting, and yellowish skin.
