Special warnings about Xenical
Xenical starts working in weight loss within 2 weeks and continues for 6
to 12 months. But results are not known if Xenical is used for more than
2 years.
If you continue to eat a high fat diet or even take a high-fat meal, diarrhea
and abdominal pain are the side effects which may get worse. So it is recommended
to take the fat in limit.
Before starting the Xenical for weight loss, your doctor will test your
thyroid function. This happens to make sure that your weight problem is
not due to an underactive thyroid gland (hypothyroidism). If you have underactive
thyroid gland (hypothyroidism) than Xenical is not solution of your problem.
The chances of kidney stones increase with the use of Xenical. If you have
a history of any kidney related problem then take the Xenical with caution.
There is possibility that weight loss will reduce your blood sugar levels,
if you have diabetes. Your dosage for this medication has to be reduced
if you’re taking an oral diabetes medication or insulin.
Xenical is used in the management of obesity in adult and
adolescent patients age 12 and older; this medicine is a gastrointestinal
lipase inhibitor. During the weight loss phase or following weight loss
to assist in weight management, Xenical may be used. It should be used with
a reduced-calorie diet. |
