What is epilepsy?

Disorder of the brain characterized by recurrent seizures–brief, temporary malfunctions of groups of nerve cells in the brain, is Epilepsy. When 2 or more seizures occur in a lifetime, Epilepsy is detected.

What are the risk factors for epilepsy?
Most of the causes of epilepsy are not known but there are some risk factors which are known. They are-• Infections of the central nervous system, such as encephalitis or meningitis
