What other drugs will affect Aciphex?
It is recommended that before using Aciphex tell your doctor if you are
taking the following medicines-
- digoxin (Lanoxin, Lanoxicaps),
- cyclosporine (Sandimmune, Neoral),
- ketoconazole (Nizoral),
- iron (Feosol, Mol-Iron, Fergon, Femiron, others), or
- ampicillin (Omnipen, Principen
If you are taking any of the medicines listed above then you may not be
able to take Aciphex, or you may require a dosage adjustment or special
monitoring durin treatment.• Consult with your doctor and pharmacist
before taking any prescription or over-the-counter medicines, including
herbal products. Drugs other than those listed here may also interact with
Aciphex or affect your condition.
Aciphex is used to treat treat ulcers, gastroesophageal
reflux disease (GERD), erosive esophagitis, or Zollinger-Ellison syndrome;
this medicine is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). Acid production in the stomach
is blocked when this medicine works. Antibiotics including amoxicillin or
clarithromycin may be used in combination with this medicine to treat certain
types of ulcers. It can also be used in other circumstances for treatment,
as if determined by your doctor. |
