What
should you watch for while taking Plavix?
It is recommended to visit to your doctor or health care professional for
regular checks on your progress. It is recommended not to stop taking Plavix
until your doctor asks you to do so.
While taking Plavix, you may bleed easily and it may take longer to stop
bleeding. If there is any unusual bleeding then consult with your doctor
immediately. Before taking non-prescription pain relievers, consult with
your doctor. It is recommended not to take aspirin, aspirin-containing products,
or antiinflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen (e.g, Motrin), ketoprofen (Orudis®),
naproxen (e.g., Aleve) until directed to do so by your doctor.
Tell your doctor or health care professional that you are taking Plavix,
if you are going to have surgery.
Plavix is used to reduce the
risk of stroke or heart attack in patients with atherosclerosis; this medicine
is an antiplatelet agent. It can also be used in other circumstances for
treatment, as if determined by your doctor. |
