Most important
fact about Norvasc
NORVASC is used to treat high blood pressure (also called “hypertension,”
“high-per-TEN-shun.”) It is also used to treat a type of chest
pain called angina ("ANN-ji-nuh"). Angina is often a pain or pressure
in your chest that keeps coming back when part of your heart does not get
enough blood. NORVASC is indicated for high blood pressure and angina.
NORVASC works to relax your blood vessels. This lets your blood flow more
easily and helps lower your blood pressure. This means that blood pressure
can be lower, and angina pain can be reduced or controlled.
You must take Norvasc regularly so that it can be effective, if you have
high blood pressure. It will take several weeks to get the full effect of
Norvasc but remember if you are feeling well then also take the medicine
regularly. High blood pressure can not be cured by Norvasc; it merely keeps
it under control.
