What
other drugs will affect Mobic?
It is recommended that before using Mobic, tell your doctor if you are taking
any of the following medicine:
1. lithium (Eskalith, Lithobid, others)
2. a diuretic (water pill) such as hydrochlorothiazide
(HCTZ, HydroDiuril, others), chlorothiazide (Diuril, others), chlorthalidone
(Thalitone), bumetanide (Bumex), ethacrynic acid (Edecrin), furosemide (Lasix),
spironolactone (Aldactone), and amiloride (Midamor);
3. aspirin or another salicylates (forms of aspirin) such
as salsalate (Disalcid), choline salicylate, and magnesium salicylate (watch
the aspirin content of other over- the-counter products such as cough, cold,
and allergy medicines);
4. an anticoagulant such as warfarin (Coumadin);
5. another nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)
such as ibuprofen (Motrin, Rufen, others), ketoprofen (Orudis, Orudis KT,
Oruvail), naproxen (Naprosyn, Aleve, Anaprox), diclofenac (Voltaren, Cataflam),
etodolac (Lodine), fenoprofen (Nalfon), flurbiprofen (Ansaid), indomethacin
(Indocin), ketorolac (Toradol), nabumetone (Relafen), oxaprozin (Daypro),
sulindac (Clinoril), or tolmetin (Tolectin);
If you are taking any of the medicines listed above then you may not be
able to take Mobic, or you may require a dosage adjustment or special monitoring
during treatment.
Consult with your doctor and pharmacist before taking any prescription or
over-the-counter medicines, including herbal products. Drugs other than
those listed here may also interact with Mobic or affect your condition.
Mobic is used to relieve the
signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis; this medicine is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory
drug (NSAID). It can also be used in other circumstances for treatment,
as if determined by your doctor.
Two strengths are available for ‘Mobic’ Tablets:
The tablet containing 7.5 mg meloxicam on one side and on the other side
yellow -coloured, round -shaped, biconvex, uncoated tablets. |
