What other drugs will affect Nexium?
It is recommended that before using Nexium tell your doctor if you are taking
the following medicines-
- iron (Feosol, Mol -Iron, Fergon, Femiron, others)
- digoxin (Lanoxin, Lanoxicaps);or
- itraconazole (Sporanox) or ketoconazole (Nizoral);
If you are taking any of the medicines listed above then you may not be
able to take Nexium, or you may require a dosage adjustment or special monitoring
during treatment.
Consult with your doctor and pharmacist before taking any prescription or
over-the-counter medicines, including herbal products. Drugs other than
those listed here may also interact with Nexium or affect your condition.Nexium
is used to treat heartburn, or gastroesophageal reflux, this medicine is
a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). To treat Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori)
infection and duodenal ulcers it can be used in combination with two antibiotics.
It can also be used in other circumstances for treatment, as if determined
by your doctor.
