Taking to your doctor about asthma
Advair is mainly used to treat asthma. It is important if you have a contact
between you and your doctor, and that begins by seeing your doctor regularly
(at least once every six months). Even more often, if your asthma is acting
up.
The main goal is to manage your asthma is being symptom-free most of the
time. You shouldn't always have to change the way you do things as a result
of your asthma. And you should be able to do more of the things you love.
If you aren't, let your doctor help you treat your asthma better.
Monitor your asthma between doctor visits by keeping track of your:
Fast-acting (rescue) inhaler use
Triggers
Symptoms
Peak flow meter readings
How to handle asthma attacks.
With the proper treatment, your asthma shouldn't always change your regular
routine. Unfortunately, there may be times when this isn't the case. And
since asthma is a serious condition that can be life-threatening, it's important
to figure out a plan of action now. This way, you'll be better able to deal
with an asthma attack, should one arise.
General signs that should make you use your quick-relief medicine:
Shortness of breath
Increased coughing
Faster breathing
Wheezing
Increased coughing
Difficulty sleeping
Common warning signs that make you get medical attention immediately:
Lips or fingernails turn gray or blue
Heart rate is very fast
Difficulty speaking
Peak flow reading is in the red zone
Quick-relief (rescue) medicine fails to help
In most cases of asthma doctors recommended Advair. It is not mandatory
that everyone has the same symptoms. Contact to your doctor, and for emergency
care. |
