Patient Information
Actonel and Actonel with Calcium are the major prescribed medication which
is used to treat and to prevent postmenopausal osteoporosis. It is advisable
not to take Actonel wit calcium if you are allergic to any of the ingredients,
or if you have low blood calcium, have kidneys that work poorly, or cannot
stand or sit upright for 30 minutes. It is too not advisable to take Calcium
tablets if you have high blood calcium i.e. hypocalcaemia. Tell your doctor
in advance, if you have had kidney stones please tell your doctor before
you start taking Actonel with Calcium, if you experience difficult or painful
swallowing, chest pain, or severe or continuing heartburn, then you should
Stop taking Actonel with Calcium and tell your doctor, as these may be signs
of serious upper digestive problems. It is recommendable to follow dosing
instructions carefully to lower the chance of these events occurring.
Side effects for Actonel are generally mild or moderate and may include
back, muscle, bone or joint pain, stomach pain or upset, or constipation,
if you experience that the symptoms are severe then contact your doctor
if symptoms are severe. Calcium may cause constipation, flatulence, nausea,
abdominal pain, and bloating. Tell your doctor, including your dentist,
about all the medicines that you take. |
