Zocor Common Uses
Simvastatin is the active ingredient in your tablets. Statins
or ‘HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors’ are the known
group of medicines to which Simvastatin belongs. Amount of cholesterol
and fatty substances called triglycerides in your blood is reduced
by working of these tablets. Normal functioning of the body
depends on the Cholesterol, but if the level of cholesterol
is too high in the bloodstream it can be deposited on the walls
of the arteries. At that time or say there it builds up to form
plaques which in due course block the blood vessel, it just
look like a scale furring up a water pipe. From our diet, small
amount of cholesterol can be consumed by us; large amount of
cholesterol is contained in egg yolks and quite low amount of
cholesterol is available in foods like fruit, vegetables, and
fish. Almost our own livers made all of the cholesterol in our
bodies. It is recommended that ‘Zocor’ should be
taken in the evening or at night; the reason for this is that
body produces the most cholesterol at night.
