EZETIMIBE (eh-ZET-eh-mib) is the chemical name for Zetia.
Zetia Common Uses
Zetia is used to lower cholesterol in the blood; this
medicine may be used alone or in combination with other
cholesterol lowering drugs (e.g., HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors
or "statins"), along with a cholesterol-lowering
diet. Strokes and heart attacks are prevented by reduction
in cholestrol. The amount of cholesterol which your body
absorbs from your diet is reduced by working of Ezetimibe.
Before Using Zetia
There are chances that any other medicines or medical
conditions may interact with this medicine therefore all
prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are
taking should be known by your doctor or pharmacist. If
you are taking fibrates (e.g., gemfibrozil, fenofibrate),
or cyclosporine then additional observation should be
required of your dose or condition. Without consulting
doctor do not start or stop taking the medicine. If you
have any other medical conditions including moderate to
severe liver disease, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding
than immediately inform your doctor. If you have active
liver disease, it is recommended not to use this medicine.

Storage
Zetia should be stored at room temperature between 59-86°F
(15-30°C) in a tightly-sealed container and in a dry
place and away from heat and direct light.
