Directions
For using this medicine, follow all the instructions as given by your doctor. Ingest the whole capsule. The capsule can be opened and contents can be sprinkled over soft foods or may be dissolved in juice (such as applesauce) immediately before swallowing, if it is difficult for you to ingest the whole capsule. The dosage of this medicine can be taken with or without food. For at least 2 hours after taking Neurontin, do not take antacids containing aluminum or magnesium. And it should be stored at room temperature in a tightly-sealed container and in a dry place and away from heat and direct light. You may receive the most benefit from Neurontin, if you take it regularly. Even if you feel well do not stop taking this medicine. Any doses should not be missed by you. Take the medicine immediately if you miss the dose and remembered on the same day but if it’s less than 4 hours until the time for your next dose, leave out the missed dose and take the medicine according to your regular dosing schedule, do not take 2 doses at once.

Cautions
If you have had an allergic reaction or are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine than do not take Neurontin. Without consulting with your doctor, do not use this medicine more often than prescribed or do not exceed the recommended dose. Without consulting your doctor do not stop taking this medicine. There are possibilities that if the medicine is suddenly stopped, the conditions may become worse. When the medicine is to be stopped your dose may need to be slowly lowered to avoid side effects. At the same time when you are taking the medicine, keep all doctor and laboratory appointments. You can have side effects for having this medicine with alcohol and other depressants. If you have any questions about which medicines are depressants than consult your doctor. Drowsiness, dizziness or blurred vision may be caused by using Neurontin. Without knowing about the reactions of Neurontin on you do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous. Your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks may be reduces if you use Neurontin alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol. All prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking should be known by your doctor or pharmacist while you start taking any new medicine. More carefulness is recommended when Neurontin is used by pediatric patients because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the drug, especially mood or behavior changes (such as mood swings, trouble with mental concentration, restlessness, hyperactivity, hostility, or aggressive behavior). With some home tests that check for protein in your urine may cause false results while using this medicine. So, if you are taking medicines for the same and need to check for protein in your urine at home, consult with your doctor. F0R WOMEN: Consult with your doctor about all the benefits and risks of using this medicine if you plan on becoming pregnant especially during the third trimester. This medicine is excreted in breast milk. While taking this medicine, ask your doctor to discuss the risks to your baby, if you are or will be breast-feeding.
