Tablets
MELOXICAM (mee-LOX-i-kam) is the chemical name for Mobic.
Two strengths are available for ‘Mobic’
Tablets.
The tablet containing 7.5 mg meloxicam
on one side and on the other side yellow -coloured, round
-shaped, biconvex, uncoated tablets.
The tablet containing 15 mg meloxicam
on one side and on the other side yellow -coloured, oblong
-shaped, biconvex, uncoated tablets.
Mobic
Common Uses
Mobic is used to relieve the symptoms of osteoarthritis;
this medicine is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug
(NSAID). It can also be used in other circumstances for
treatment, as if determined by your doctor.
Before Using Mobic
There are chances that any other medicines or medical
conditions may interact with this medicine therefore all
prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are
taking should be known by your doctor or pharmacist. If
you are taking serotonin reuptake blocker medicines such
as fluoxetine or citalopram, anticoagulants, biphosphonates
(e.g., alendronate, risedronate), cholestyramine, lithium,
or methotrexate than additional observation should be
required of your dose or condition. Without consulting
doctor do not start or stop taking the medicine. If you
have any other medical conditions including asthma, nasal
polyps, any allergies - especially aspirin/NSAID allergy
(e.g., ibuprofen, celecoxib), pregnancy, or breast-feeding
than immediately inform your doctor and if you have any
further queries regarding the medicine than contact your
doctor.
Storage
Mobic should be stored at room temperature between 15-30°C
(59-86°F) in a tightly-sealed container and in a dry
place and away from heat and direct light.
