Lipitor Side Effects
Dizziness, headache, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, gas,
or stomach upset/pain are the possible side effects that
may occur at the time you are taking this medicine. Consult
with your doctor if you continue or are worrisome about
these side effects. If you experience joint pain, chest
pain, or swelling in the arms or legs then consult with
your doctor as quickly as possible. And if you experience
muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness (especially with
fever or unusual tiredness); yellowing eyes and skin;
dark urine; change in the amount of urine; pale stools;
or severe stomach pain then also consult with your doctor
as soon as possible. It is not likely possible to have
any ALLERGIC REACTION to this medicine but if you find
any reaction then immediately contact your doctor. Rash,
itching, swelling, dizziness, or trouble breathing are
the possible symptoms of an allergic reaction. Contact
your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist, if you observe any
other effects not listed above.
Liver Effects
Before beginning of the treatment, liver function tests
should be performed and afterwards periodically. Liver
function tests should be performed for the patients who
develop any sign or symptoms indicative of liver injury.
Until the abnormality (ies) resolves patient should be
monitored who develop increased transaminase levels. It
is recommended that the dose of Lipitor should be reduced
or withdrawal when an increase in ALT or AST of greater
than 3 times the upper limit of normal persist.
Patients who consumes substantial quantities of alcohol
and/or have a history of liver disease should use the
Lipitor with carefulness.
Any incident which reports undesirable events that the
patients who are taking Lipitor have any impairment of
ability to drive and use hazardous machinery, have not
yet been received.
Lipitor Drug Interactions
You can have unnecessary side effects or prevent a medicine
from doing its job, if having drug interactions. If your

Lipitor Overdose
By having over dosage for Lipitor, any specific treatment
is not available. The patient should be treated symptomatically
and supportive measures should be taken when any incident
of over dosage occurs. At this time, liver function tests
and serum CPK levels should be monitored. Due to extensive
drug binding to plasma proteins, haemodialysis is not
expected to significantly enhance atorvastatin clearance.
Contact your local poison control center or emergency
room without delay, if overdose is supposed to be taken
by you.
Lipitor Additional Information
Lipitor should be used along with exercise, a low-cholesterol/low-fat
diet, and a weight loss program if you are overweight,
for best results. You should FOLLOW the dietary plan as
prescribed by your doctor. This medicine should not be
shared with others to whom it was not prescribed. For
other health conditions, do not use this medicine. Keep
this medicine out of the reach of children and pets. Obtain
refills before your supply rush out, if you use this medicine
for a comprehensive period of time.
