Directions
For using this medicine, follow all the instructions as given by your doctor. The dosage of this medicine can be taken with or without food. You should take the Lipitor daily at the same time. At the time when you have taken the medicine, do not eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice. And it should be stored at room temperature between 68 to 77 degrees F (20 to 25 degrees C) in a tightly-sealed container and in a dry place and away from heat and direct light. Take the medicine as immediately as possible, if you have missed the dose. If sometimes you do not remember that you have taken the dose a day or not and even if you missed the dose next day also then skip the missed dose and take the medicine according to your regular dosing schedule, do not take 2 doses at once.

Cautions
If you have had an allergic reaction or are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine than do not take Lipitor. You must follow the dietary plan as provided by your doctor. The full effect of this medicine can be seen after few weeks. Even if you feel well do not stop taking the Lipitor. Without consulting your doctor do not stop taking this medicine. Before you start taking this medicine and during treatment to monitor your progress or to check for side effects, your laboratory and/or medical tests such as blood cholesterol levels or liver function tests should be done. At the same time when you are taking the medicine, keep all doctor and laboratory appointments. Inform your doctor that you are taking Lipitor, before having any kind of surgery. You can have serious side effects if you are using alcohol daily. Dizziness may be caused with the use of Lipitor. Without knowing about the reactions of this medicine on you do not drive, operate machinery, or do anything else that could be dangerous. Your ability to drive or to perform other potentially dangerous tasks may be reduces if you use this medicine alone, with other medicines, or with alcohol. Rarely, muscle damage may also be caused with the use of Lipitor. Kidney damage and a very serious condition known as rhabdomyolysis can be caused if not treated well. If you experience muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness especially if they occur with fever or unusual tiredness, consult your doctor as quickly as possible. There can be increase of the amount of this medicine in your blood, which may increase your risk for serious side effects, if you take the Lipitor with grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice, so avoid taking this medicine with such eatables. While you are taking this medicine, ask your doctor before including grapefruit or grapefruit juice in your diet. All prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking should be known by your doctor or pharmacist while you start taking any new medicine. More carefulness is recommended when this medicine is used by elderly because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the medicine. F0R WOMEN: If you are pregnant, do not use this medicine. if you think that you could be pregnant, contact your doctor immediately. While taking this medicine it is suggested that women of child-bearing age use effective birth control measures, since it may cause fetal harm. While taking this medicine, do not breast-feed.
