TAMSULOSIN (tam-SOO-loe-sin) is the chemical name for
Flomax.
One strength is available for ‘Flomax’ Capsules:
0.4mg.
Flomax Common Uses
Flomax is used to treat symptoms of benign prostatic
hypertrophy (BPH); this medicine is an alpha blocker.
It can also be used in other circumstances for treatment,
as if etermined by your doctor.
Before Using Flomax
There are chances that any other medicines or medical
conditions may interact with this medicine therefore
all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that
you are taking should be known by your doctor or pharmacist.
If you are also taking certain medicines for erectile
dysfunction such as sildenafil or vardenafil then do
not take this medicine. If you are taking other alpha-
blockers (e.g., prazosin, terazosin, doxazosin) than
additional observation should be required of your dose
or condition. Without consulting doctor do not start
or stop taking the medicine. If you have any other medical
conditions including high blood pressure, or allergies
than immediately inform your doctor and if you have
any further queries regarding the medicine than contact
your doctor.
Storage
Flomax should be stored at room temperature between
15-30°C (59-86°F) in a tightly-sealed container
and in a dry place and away from heat and direct light.
