Alphagan Eye Drops 0.2% (Brimonidine) is a selective alpha-2 adrenergic agonist used to treat glaucoma and excessive pressure in the eye. Alphagan Eye Drops 0.2% (Brimonidine) may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor. Recently Allergan, (the manufacturer of Alphagan Eye Drops 0.2% (Brimonidine)) began promoting a new strength of Alphagan Eye Drops 0.2% (Brimonidine). They call this medication Alphagan P 0.15%. This strength was developed because the company believes Alphagan P 0.15% may cause less ocular allergies. The newer medication is much more expensive.
Alphagan Eye Drops 0.2% (Brimonidine) Directions: Follow the directions for using Alphagan Eye Drops 0.2% (Brimonidine) provided by your doctor. TO USE Alphagan Eye Drops 0.2% (Brimonidine) first, wash your hands. Tilt your head back and with your index finger, pull the lower eyelid away from the eye to form a pouch. Drop Alphagan Eye Drops 0.2% (Brimonidine) into the pouch and gently close your eyes. Immediately use your finger to apply pressure to the inside corner of the eye and continue to apply pressure for 1 or 2 minutes after using Alphagan Eye Drops 0.2% (Brimonidine). If Alphagan Eye Drops 0.2% (Brimonidine) is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose of Alphagan Eye Drops 0.2% (Brimonidine) and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do NOT use 2 doses of Alphagan Eye Drops 0.2% (Brimonidine) at once.
