Domperidone Common Uses
Domperidone is used to increase the movements or contractions of the stomach and bowel (used in management of upper gastrointestinal motility disorders). Domperidone also works to increase milk production in breastfeeding mothers by increasing the prolactin in the pituitary gland.

Before Using Domperidone
Domperidone should be swallowed half-an hour before meals. Domperidone (Motilium) must never be used as the first approach to correcting breastfeeding difficulties. It should not be used unless all other factors which may result in insufficient milk supply have been dealt with first. Before taking this medicine please inform your doctor and pharmacist of any prescription and non-prescription medication that you are taking. It is recommended that children under the age of 12 not use this medicine. If you have severe liver or kidney problems before taking this medicine please inform your doctor. Before using this medication, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, plan on becoming pregnant or breastfeeding if you are taking or planning to take any prescription or nonprescription medicine if you have any other medical condition if you have high blood pressure. The working of this medicine may be affected if used with bromocritine, cholestyramine, opiate drugs, antimuscarinics, drugs used to thin blood such as Warfarin and any medicine containing paractamol. Check with your doctor if you notice any symptom that worries you while you are taking this medicine. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine or to similar medications.
