VALSARTAN (val-SAR-tan) is the chemical name for Diovan.
Diovan Common Uses
Diovan is used to treat high blood pressure; this medicine
is an angiotensin II receptor. It can also be used in
the case of congestive heart failure and other conditions,
as if determined by your doctor.
Before Using Diovan
WARNING: If used during the last six months of pregnancy,
this drug can cause serious fetal harm. STOP using this
drug and immediately consult your physician, if pregnancy
occurs. All prescription and over-the-counter medicine
that you are taking should be known by your doctor or
pharmacist. If you have liver or kidney disease then additional
monitoring of your dose or condition may be needed. If
you have any other medical conditions, allergies, pregnancy,
or breast-feeding then inform your doctor.
