Cymbalta Common Uses
Cymbalta is used to treat depression; this medicine is a selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI). It can also be used in other circumstances for treatment, as if determined by your doctor.

Before Using Cymbalta
There are chances that any other medicines or medical conditions may interact with this medicine therefore all prescription and over-the-counter medicine that you are taking should be known by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are also taking fluvoxamine, quinolone antibiotics, or thioridazine then do not take this medicine. If you have taken a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) then do not take this medicine with, or within 14 days. Furazolidone, isocarboxazid, linezolid, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, selegiline, and tranylcypromine are included in MAOIs. Before starting this medicine, inform your doctor or pharmacist about all the medicines you are taking currently. If you are taking SSRI antidepressants (such as fluoxetine or paroxetine), quinidine, tricyclic antidepressants (such as nortriptyline, amitriptyline, or imipramine), phenothiazines (such as chlorpromazine or perphenazine), or antiarrhythymics (such as propafenone or flecainide) than additional observation should be required of your dose or condition. Without consulting doctor do not start or stop taking the medicine. If you have any other medical conditions, including mania, history of seizures, slowed emptying of the stomach, controlled narrow-angle glaucoma, allergies, pregnancy, or breast-feeding than immediately inform your doctor. If you have a history of end stage renal disease (ESRD) or severe kidney problems, liver problems, uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma, or history of alcohol abuse then it is recommended not to use Cymbalta.
