Directions
For using this medicine, follow all the instructions
as given by your doctor. Information leaflet is available
for patients with the medicine. Read the information
leaflet carefully. Consult your doctor, nurse, or pharmacist
if you have any questions about Combivent. Insert the
canister properly into the inhaler and shake well before
using this medicine. It is advised to exhale slowly
and deeply. Position the mouthpiece between your lips
and try to rest your tongue flat, unless otherwise your
doctor has told you. Your doctor has advised you to
use a special spacing device or instructed you to hold
the inhaler 1 or 2 inches (2 or 3 centimeters) away
from your open mouth. To administer a dose of this medicine
as you start to take a slow, deep breath, press the
canister and mouthpiece together at exactly the same
time. While inhaling slowly and deeply, hold your breath
for as long as comfortable and afterwards exhale slowly
and deeply through pursed lips or through your nose.
Wait for a few minutes and repeat the above process,
if you have to use the inhalation more than 1. It is
advised to keep the spray away from your eyes. Always
remember the number of sprays you have taken and subtract
them from the total number of sprays available in container.
By noticing this, it would be helpful you to remember
the doses left in the container. Even if it appears
empty, do not puncture, break, or burn container. Even
if you feel well do not stop using this medicine. Any
doses should not be missed by you. Take the medicine
immediately if you miss the dose and remembered on the
same day but if it’s the time for your next dose,
leave out the missed dose and take the medicine according
to your regular dosing schedule, do not take 2 doses
at once.
Cautions
While you are taking this medicine, keep all doctor
and laboratory appointments. Soya lecithin is contained
in Combivent. Inform your doctor, if you are allergic
to soya lecithin, soybeans, or peanuts, before start
using this medicine. Dizziness or blurred vision may
be caused by using this medicine. Without knowing about
the reactions of this medicine on you do not drive,
operate machinery, or do anything else that could be
dangerous. It is recommended to avoid getting this medicine
in your eyes. Dry mouth or an unpleasant taste in your
mouth may be caused by using this medicine. After using
this medicine, rinse your mouth and gargle to prevent
dryness of mouth. Use sugarless gum or candy, or melt
bits of ice in your mouth, if you experience dryness
of mouth. Contact your doctor or dentist, if dry mouth
continued for more than 2 weeks. All prescription and
over-the-counter medicine that you are taking should
be known by your doctor or pharmacist while you start
taking any new medicine. F0R WOMEN: Consult with your
doctor about all the benefits and risks of using this
medicine if you plan on becoming pregnant especially
during the third trimester. It is not known if this
medicine is excreted in breast milk. While taking this
medicine, do not breast-feed.
